Carpets and tiles.

Carpets have been laid and tiles. Tiles look great! But the carpet.... not so much. Looks alot like dirt! Maybe it's the lighting, or it hasn't been cleaned yet...not sure.  :( The little square sample at the carpet place looked really nice the colour seemed right at the time, which was a very long time ago. Word of warning choose a very very safe colour. Feature wall colour has changed my perspective on colour choice I think... I'll post pics so you guys can see.

The count down begins!

Ten days to go till handover! I can't believe we've come this far! The date has changed to the 8th of Oct. Appointment time is 8:30am! Nice and early. I'm glad we dont have to pack because our things are already in storage. Booked removalists. Buying our feature wall paint and D.I.Y'ing it. Bought some temporary blinds from Ikea til our permanent blinds come. They are awesome @ $4.99 a blind. So if your blinds aren't ready, these are a lifesaver for privacy. They measure at about 90 cm × 190 cm.

Pendants finally came!

We picked up our pendant lighting. Dropped them off to the electrician.  While we were there I had to take happy snaps. Found out the splashback is on. Shower glass in and mirrors.

Post Update and Handover Date!

Last week has been pretty hectic at work and also trying to organize window shutters and flyscreens and security doors and driveways. And sorting my paperwork for the first home owners grant with the bank. We have only just put a deposit with Wynstan for the Plantation shutters for the front of the house and the media room only, and the rest will be timber look alike venetians in white. We also added with them the flyscreens and the front security door and the stacker door security and a lovely panel glide for the stacker door as well. Everything pretty much came all out flat $7000. Ouch! Hopefully it will be worth the money! Driveway came out to be $5260. We enrolled our daughter to her new school which she will start when we move in Oct. WHEN!? you ask.... The date specified for Handover is 7th of Oct! Exciting times! As for the house update..well we only had time to look from the outside. The wall and ceiling painting is done. The front porch is tiled, the downpipes are painted finally! Thought they missed that! haha. Doors had been painted and attached. The electrical work is scheduled for the end of next week. So close! This 3 weeks will hopefully fly really quick. Oh good o'l JB Hifi doing a hot deal on a 65 Inch Ultra Ultra Hd LED tv for CHEAP! Hubby's taken then deal and bought the TV! Media room HERE IT COMES!

Door.....Open. ....what now?! Walk in I guess..

Then we locked the door behind us..... thinking did we forget anything inside!?
Luckily no.

The inspector..

We have organised a Building Inspector to come and inspect our house. We chose to go with Jims Building because it was in budget and Ben who did the inspection was fantastic. We found some minor faults to the house. And it gave us a peace of  mind to what we needed to look for and fix before handover, which is coming very soon. Allworth said that it would likely be on the 7th of October. Since we haven't beeen able to see the inside of our house, Ben had taken alot of photos of the inside that we couldn't see. We were excited to see that vanities were installed, bath, bathroom tiles, front porch tiles were in, laundry tub in and laundry cabinets that we had added. Just happy with the colours! So if your building GET a building inspector its totally worth it.
